Jaeyeon Lee earned his Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from the University of Texas at Dallas in 2016. Following that, he transitioned to the McGovern Medical School at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, initially as a Senior Research Associate in 2016 and later as a Senior Control Engineer at ColubrisMX Inc. (now Endoquest Robotics) from 2017. In 2020, he commenced his research at the Department of Biomedical Engineering at the George Washington University.

Starting in 2021, he served as an ORISE Digital Health Fellow at the Telemedicine and Advanced Technology Research Center (TATRC) and has since progressed to his current role as a Robotics Scientist at TATRC. His research focuses on medical and surgical robots, machine vision for healthcare applications, haptics, motion planning and control, and AI-enabled robotic systems. Jaeyeon Lee is an active member of IEEE and ASME.
